ARTIST STATEMENT:
The origins of the concept are vast and have been developing for years. Mainly there are three experiences that are worth noting and have gotten us here.
1.) A dream which the title is from. I was working on a series of art pieces called Plastic Penis People. I can't really remember the content I was coming up with in the dream. However, I remembered the title and wrote it down in a dream journal upon awakening.
2.) A psychedelic trip I had where every time I blinked I would be transported into a different dimension or space. Basically I was traveling through different dimensions and worlds by blinking like channels changing on a television set.
3.) Going back to the title and perhaps the whole concept is some sort of subliminal ode to the band Whitehouse. Who really knows though. This first sonic sculpture came to be very late one night, I don't really feel like I personally made this sculpture or that I had any involvement at all in this project.
Lastly, this project is not a band. These sculptures are artifacts representing the different dimensions the blinking eyes saw.
